Where has April gone???

Blink and you miss it!  We've heard that expression before.  I'm always reminded of it when all of a sudden it's the end of another month.  April usually means the end of another curling season.  So, naturally, there are all sorts of people to thank.  Here's a peek at two of the Thank You Cards that I designed this year for all the wonderful volunteers we have at the Potomac Curling Club.  You know who you are!

The curling stone stamp is one I carved myself.  The background dots are from the Stamp a Bag Stamp Set (annual catalog, p. 58).  It's one of the sets that's retiring at the end of the catalog year in May.  The large "Thanks" is made with the Layered Letters Alphabet.  I like these big photopolymer letters because you can line them all up on a block to make big words (as long as the letters aren't doubled!).  Perfect for the word "Thanks"

Colors here are Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black.

This next card uses some retired products and some retiring product.  Plus, it uses a stamp from a past Paper Pumpkin kit, too.  However, the one item that is still with us is the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Not only can it be used for falling snow, it looks like the pebble sprinkled onto good Curling Ice!  It's one of my favorite folders and with so many uses.

Again the colors are Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black (the marker for the Word Bubble outline from the retired Just Sayin' stamp set.)  I also used a Basic Grey Stampin' Write marker for the base of the curling stone.

The circles are cut from the Circles Collection Framelits Dies which are retiring soon.  That curling stone is another one I carved myself.  On the inside of the card, I used another of the stamps from the now retired Just Sayin' stamp set. It says "You're the Best!" because our club volunteers are just that "The Best!"
