Halloween a la 10-year-old

Kids really have a fun sense of design. My
daughter designed this card. All I told her was "Halloween" and use the Sock Monkey. Well, she sketched out this really interesting idea. So I made it (with a slight humorous addition of my own.) Here's the front cover, complete with spider on the door knob, and the inside spread. Happy Halloween! The greeting on the inside was even her idea and the new Chills and Thrills rub-ons actually had it. Enjoy.

More Halloween Fun

Here's my version of the "witch broom" gift bag that is on p. 29 of the Stampin' Up! catalog. I think I'd use smaller bags if I do it again. Very fun, though. I filled it with the pumpkin spice kisses, again. The stick is from the yard. Fun. I used the Haunting Halloween set with that cute witch-cat to make the quick tag.

Boo!

Did I scare you? Here's a cute little Halloween pillow box that's really easy. I filled it with some of the Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses. Might make a great gift for some one. The box is the Sizzix Bigz Pillow Box die that is now offered by Stampin' Up! for use with the Big Shot machine. The pumpkin face is a rub-on from the new Chills and Thrills Rub-ons. Tag uses All-Holidays and the cute bat from the up-coming Halloween Frights set that will be available Oct. 1! I sponged the box (probably should've used a bit more ink) to make it have a bit more depth. The holes in the top for the handle were made with the small hole punch on the Crop-a-dile. Enjoy!

New Hostess Set

Here's one of the new Level I hostess sets in action. It's called Organic Grace. At the suggestion of my friend Cindy W., I used the color combination they're showing in the catalog under the Silhouettes design trend section. It combines Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, and Sahara Sand. While I'm not completely satisfied with this layout, it's getting there. This is a nice detail-line set. Can bleaching be far off? T-Shirt Inspiration

The picture doesn't do this color combination justice, but I needed to share this. Many thanks to my friend Sharon who was wearing a really cool patriotic T-shirt yesterday as fitting remembrance. The colors got my creativity jump-started and I came up with this card. The photo was hard to capture with all the embossing. If anyone has some good photo tips, I could use them. In any case, this uses the Fresh Cuts set, Navy, Riding Hood Red (another new color) and White and Silver embossing. Enjoy the card and enjoy your weekend.

Roof Garden Accents

Here's a card that combines the Pocket Silhouettes and Thank You Kindly with the new Roof Garden Accents and Elements kit. The decorative strip on the side and the flower elements all are self-adhesive card-stock. Makes for quick embellishments on a card. Again I used the new colors Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze, plus the Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon for texture. Hope it inspires you.

More Silhouettes

Here's how one of the Pocket Silhouettes looks embossed in white. Kind of neat on that Kiwi Kiss paper. I really like the combination of the Kiwi Kiss and the Pacific Point blue. The In Color palette this year is really interesting to play with and if you look around at the home decor magazines and in the stores, these colors are everywhere. The ribbon is the Striped Grosgrain that matches the Pacific Point paper. I didn't have any of the matching buttons, but I thought the Celery button worked just fine. The sentiment is from Thank You Kindly, another new set. Enjoy the mid-week.

New Stuff to Play With

I'm having fun playing today. Lots of new sets and ideas. This color combination came to me from a fundraiser flier from my daughter's school. Whisper White, Basic Black and Cameo Coral. I really enjoy the look of the silhouette sets that are in the new Stampin' Up! catalog. Very simple, but elegant looking. This set is called Pocket Silhouettes and is one of my favorites.
