We Interrupt The Holiday Positing for Movie Premier Day!

I bet you can guess where I'll be this morning at 10 AM.  Yes, at the Movies.  Can't wait to see where they're taking this franchise that I started watching when I was kid.  I couldn't resist making this card for my husband for his Birthday at the beginning of December.  I got the idea for using the punches from Pinterest.  There are so many really creative folks using punches in the most amazing ways.  I wish I could credit them all here, but it would really take up space.  If you have time, find and follow me and you can see them on my board "Punch Happy."  This is my take-away from those great ideas.  The Happy Birthday is from the From the Herd retired set.  Thanks for stopping in today!

Christmas Project Ideas: Tag #5

Another quick and easy tag for today.  This features the second largest Lots of Labels Framelit.  I stamped the tree from the Peaceful Pines stamp set in Garden Green and added the Star Die Cut from the matching Perfect Pines Framelits Dies.  Why that star?  Because it is the perfect size.  The Joy To All is stamped in real red.  Add some 1/8" striped ribbon in real read and there's your tag.

Christmas Project Ideas: Tags #4 plus a Bonus Card

I've seen several of these Ornaments using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits from the Holiday Catalog.  This one just happens to be a tag. The Base Ornament from the Delicate Ornaments Thinlits Dies is cut in Lost Lagoon here.  I stamped the snowflakes in Whisper White Ink.  The Edgelits are cut using Whisper White Card Stock.  I then ran the cut pieces through the same Ornament Shape and layered them onto the tag.  The Ornament Topper is cut from Silver Foil.  I added some Silver Ribbon to finish it off.

Now, I couldn't stop there, could I?  I had to turn this tag into a card.  I changed the colors a bit for the card, but here it is.  The blues are Island Indigo and Soft Sky.

I also added one of the silver Metallic Foil Doilies as a backing for the ornament.  The banner is made with the Triple Banner Punch.

No Stamping on the front of this tag.  Just Silver and Gold papers and ribbons.   The Ornament was cut from Silver Foil Sheet.  The Joy and the Ornament Topper are Gold Foil Sheet.  The Tag is layered with Winter Wonderland Designer Series Vellum and Washi Tape.  Cording Trim and Silver Satin Ribbon finish off the tag.  If you're wondering where the "joy" came from, it's from the retired Snowflake Card Thinlits dies that were in last year's Holiday Catalog collection.  I was looking for a smaller die-cut word, and that fit the bill.  However, the Christmas Greetings Thinlits, would also work.

Christmas Project Ideas: Tags #2

Tag idea #2 is a really simple one that I think would look great on any plate of cookies or bag of tasty holiday snacks.  It is really simple.  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to create tag itself.  Joy and Peace from the Holly Jolly Greetings Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler (or Real Red, it works well, too).  The Snowflake Element adds some texture and dimension.  The To-From can be stamped on the back.  The great thing about tags is you can use them as the main element on a card, too.

Christmas Project Ideas: Tags #1

One of my favorite things to design during the Holidays is tags for gifts.  Whether you're using them on a package for family or on Cookie Platters or Boxes for the neighbors, tags are really quick and easy to make.  These two tags were also designed for an auction donation.  I made about 20 assorted tags in all.  Most of them left the house before I had a chance to photograph them.  However, there are so many possibilities that I'm sure I will be creating more. The next few posts will be tag ideas.  Try bundling them together and giving them as gifts, too!  Stampin' Up! products really make tag making simple starting with the Tag Topper punches. (p. 165 in the Annual Catalog, if you're wondering)  The one I used here is the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.  The ornaments are from the Embellished Ornaments Stamp Set (p. 15 in the Holiday Catalog)  These ornaments look elegant stamped in classic ink or embossed.  Here are one of each.  I used Sahara Sand for the tag itself and added a bit of matching Sahara Sand 7/8" Lace Trim with some 1/8" gold ribbon to accent.  The background paper is from the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack also from the Holiday Catalog (p. 23).  You've also seen the Christmas Greetings Thinlits (includes Merry, Peace and Jolly) and it's matching Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set from the catalog as well.  Enjoy!

Christmas Project Ideas: Card #6

 Here's the last of the Auction Cards.  All is calm, all is bright really describes this stamp set well.  I love the lines of the pine trees.  Makes me want to take a walk in the woods.  Reminds me also of my favorite Robert Frost poem that my grandmother used to read.  This card uses another of the seasonal embossing folders from the Holiday Catalog, Boughs and Berries (see p. 30).  I also used the Triple Banner Punch from the Annual Catalog (p. 165) to create the sentiment banner.  If you're wondering about the gold snowflake, it's actually from the retired Snowflake Card Thinlits Die set from last year.  I had run out of wooden Snowflake Elements when the card was designed, so I used a gold one instead.  However, I think the wooden one would really fit nicely with the outdoor-feel of the card.  The snowflakes over the trees are embossed in gold.  I also ran the Versamark around the edge of the oval frame and dipped it in the embossing powder, too, to create the look of a picture frame.  Thanks for sharing these cards with me.  Hope you found some ideas to inspire you.  Check back again soon for some other Holiday Paper Crafting Ideas.

Stars and Christmas go well together and here are some options for Stars on a card.  I used the Stars Framelits and the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The blues add a softer color palette to a traditional theme. Christmas Project Ideas: Card #4

Another Auction Card for you to enjoy.  This elegant dove is embossed in gold (I guess I was on a gold kick this year).  I colored it in with Real Red and Old Olive Markers.  I used the markers directly rather than using a blender pen this time.  Since I wasn't coloring in the entire image, I thought the bolder color might work best.  The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive.  The circles were cut with the Circles Collection Framelits.  Hope you're enjoying the Christmas Cards.  We have 2 more to post this week before we move on to tags and boxes!  Stay tuned for more ideas plus a sneak peak of some upcoming products in the next few weeks...Have a wonderful Monday.

Christmas Project Ideas: Card #3

Silver and Gold...That was the inspiration for this one.  I always liked Sam the Singing Snowman in the production of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer singing that song.  Here's a take on that theme in a card.  This card uses the Embellished Ornaments stamp set and its matching Delicate Ornaments Thinlits Dies (Holiday Catalog, p.15)  The gold ornament is stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with Gold embossing powder.  I added the ornament topper from the Thinlits set in Silver foil for contrast and a piece of Gold Cording Trim to match the ornament.  The silver ornament was die-cut in Silver Foil Paper with a Gold Foil ornament topper and Silver Cording Trim to match the ornament.  I layered the ornaments over the stamped holly branch from the stamp set.  I used Basic Gray Archival Ink and then a blender pen to color the berries and leaves with Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Inks.  Thanks for visiting today.

Christmas Project Idea: Card #2

Here is the second card I made for the Church Auction.  It's a simple, but beautiful card.  It uses one of my favorite products from the Holiday Catalog the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This folder is really versatile used for falling snow, extra texture, pebbles on the curling ice (you know I love that one!)  All great fun.  Here I paired it with the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and matching Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies (yes, they Bundle!).  The trees are from the Happy Scenes stamp set.  All products from the Holiday Catalog.  The wooden Snowflake Elements are also in the Holiday Catalog.  They come in several different sizes.  Hope you enjoyed today's project.

Christmas Project Ideas: Card #1

'Tis the Season says it all.  It's been awhile since I posted anything, I know.  But now that the Holiday Season is upon us, I thought that it would be a good idea to share some of the fun I'm having.  We're starting with the infamous "Church Auction Cards."  Those of you who have visited in the past will remember that every November, I donate cards to the Auction.  Here is the first of this year's cards.  I wanted to use the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set and matching Perfect Pines dies.  This card comes together quickly.  The Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is a retired one, but any of the Polka-dot folders will work.
