With all the winter action going on lately, I need some Spring! So here are a few cards using the new Extra Large Fancy Flower punch. In this card, I punched the flower in So Saffron and mounted it on top of one of the Pumpkin Pie Die Cut Blooms (it fit perfectly!). The Designer Series Paper Sweet Pea gave me the color combination. The stamp set is With All My Heart from the Occasions Mini Catalog.
Stamps: With All My Heart (clear mount version)
Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Paper: So Saffron, Old Olive, Whisper White, Designer Series Paper Sweet Pea
Accessories: Die Cut Blooms, Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, 1-1/4 inch circle punch, 5/16" natural brads
More Asian-themed cards as we approach Cherry Blossom season. This is the Eastern Blooms stamp set. The large blossom fits nicely inside that Fancy Flower. I used the Curly Label punch twice for the sentiment. The pink one is rotated vertically to provide the small mat of Regal Rose paper behind the white label. The Pretties Kit 1/2-pearls make wonderful flower centers.
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Almost Amethyst, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose
Paper: Whisper White, Almost Amethyst, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose
Accessories: Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Curly Label Punch, Top Note Bigz Die, Big Shot, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Pretties Kit, Mini Glue Dots, dimensionals

Dream Garden Lanterns
It's an Asian-themed day. I was playing with the Dream Garden stamp set. The lanterns are made using the Designer Label punch, the 1.25 inch circle punch and the 1 inch punch. The handles on the top of the lantern are made from the Scallop Trim Corner punch (just the corner loop).
Stamps: Dream Garden
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Lavender Lace
Paper: Pretty In Pink, Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Accessories: Scallop Trim Corner and Border punches, Designer Label Punch, 1-1/4 in circle punch, 1-inch circle punch, Linen Thread, dimensionals
Here's another Dream Garden card with a lantern. Similar Colors (w/out the pink), and the same kind of lantern. Background is a Cuttlebug folder from my personal collection which fit the whole them. The beautiful character means "dream."

Gift Box Wednesday
I decided that I needed to clean up the stamping table today and I found a 12x12 piece of Pretty in Pink card stock that had been scored every 3 inches on each side and folded to make a box. However, it was un-adorned and pretty boring as a box. I also had a black embossed on white Circle Circus flower just begging to be used. I stamped some circles on the card stock, added a Top Note cut from Basic Black card stock and run through the Textured Impressions Polka Dots Folder. Added some Ribbon and Voila! A cute little purse. Here's what I used, plus a side view photo. Hope you had a great day. Thanks for stopping by.

Vintage Vogue Takes
My Sassy 6 ladies always challenge my thinking. Thanks, gals! Last week we gathered with the Vintage Vogue set and various papers/colors and accessories and produced some cards from sketches. I love doing this because it's a lot of fun to see what people come up with. This was one of mine. I stamped a half sheet of Whisper White paper with the flowers and leaves and then cut it down to make two cards. This one is my own layout, the second is from the sketch/sample we used. Enjoy them!

This is the one I copied from our sample layout. I used softer flowers and less ribbon (I actually used up a roll! Woohoo!) Color scheme is the same. The bling is the same. The accessories are slightly different.

Same layout, different take.
Here's the "Thank You" version of the Baby Layout. This is a very useful layout. Just pick a letter and go. (That B could go fro Birthday, as well.) This one uses the new Designer Series Paper Shades of Spring. The great thing about the designer papers is that you get an automatic color pallet to work with. This one is Orchid Opulence, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink. Enjoy.

Polka Dots, Baby!
I seem to be using a lot of Polka Dots, these days. But this one is a really quick baby card. I took the layout from one of the sketches in the current issue of Paper Crafts Magazine. I used simpler color scheme, though. This could be changed up in blue for a boy, as well. Change the letter to a "T" and make it a "thank you" card, too. In fact, I just might do that for tomorrow. Smile!

Asian Artistry
This was my "Set of the Day" yesterday. It's a Stampin' Up! Level II hostess set. It was also a day for re-discovering techniques that I don't remember to use very often. The first card is a basic one with markers. Hope you enjoy them and enjoy your weekend.
The bird card uses the Scallop Trim Border punch (another Sale-a-Bration item) and Perfect Plum designer paper. The card base is Pale Plum, a color I forget about sometimes. It makes a great background. Just light enough. Background is tone-on-tone using the bamboo-like stamp from Embrace Life.
Stamps: Asian Artistry, Embrace Life, Happy Moments (Sale-a-bration)
Ink: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Markers: Certainly Celery and Perfect Plum
Paper: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Designer Series Paper Patterns Perfect Plum
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch (Sale-a-bration), Soft Subtles Brads, dimensionals
This is the second card I made. This one uses bleach on the Garden Green card stock with Cameo Coral Marker over top. The actual bleaching left a really nice pink-tone (probably from the paper's dye-lot) so all I had to add was a bit of darker color for shading. The flower itself is embossed in black first to make the bleaching a bit easier.
Stamps: Asian Artistry, Embrace Life, Kind and Caring Thoughts
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black, Cameo Coral (Ink pad and Marker)
Paper: Cameo Coral, Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Garden Green
Accessories: Basic Black 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Black Embossing powder, Bleach, Cotton swabs (to apply), dimensionals
Last card uses another technique I had forgotten: I used the crimper, but put the paper partially through and only ran it a couple of turns. This gave a nice vertical line on the card without using ribbon. Something different. Again, the Scallop Trim Border for an interesting edge.
Stamps: Asian Artistry
Ink: Garden Green, Markers: Certainly Celery and Cameo Coral

More Circles to Enjoy
Here's Circle Circus round two. The second of these isn't photographing as well as I'd like. The camera doesn't pick up on the vibrant celery-black combination. If I solve the problem, I'll update it later today. Meantime, enjoy what the winter blast has produced.
Card one, my personal favorite of the Circle Circus quartet, is simple black and white. The flower stamp is embossed in white on the black paper (twice) and in black on the white paper (once). The sentiment (from the Happy Moments sale-a-bration set, again) is also embossed in white. Circle punches add some dimension.

This is the one I'm having photo issues with. The color scheme is again Celery and Black. Both of these cards were inspired by pillows again. The first by one I own, the second by one in Coastal Living, again. I'll keep trying to get a decent photo of this one because the colors are kind of cool together. Here's the recipe:

Circle Circus Day
I decided to pick a stamp set an play. Here are a couple of the cards I made and I'll post the others tomorrow. I chose the stamp set Circle Circus. Maybe because my head is spinning with all this snow!
Here's a bright one. I used the new Extra Large Fancy Flower punch along with the Boho Blossoms punch. Kind of a retro-look to it, eh?
Stamps: Circle Circus, Happy Moments (Sale-a-bration set)
Ink: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay
Paper: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, 1-3/4-inch circle punch, 1-1/4-inch circle punch, 1 inch circle punch, 3/4-inch circle punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, 5/16" brads (whisper white), dimensionals
This card was inspired by a pillow that I saw in a magazine. It's kind of a different color combination. The ballet blue works, though. I thought it was a fun use of the circles, too.
Stamps: Circle Circus, Vintage Labels (Sale-a-bration set! I got it for free!)
Ink: Dusty Durango, Ballet Blue
Paper: Dusty Durango, Ballet Blue, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Accessories: Stampin' Up! Bigz Die Lattice, Big Shot Machine, Eyelet Border Punch, Scalloped Circle punch, 1-inch circle punch, 1-3/8 inch and 1-1/4 inch circle punches, 3/4-inch circle punch, Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (in reverse!)

Posting again...I'm on a roll!
I couldn't remember if I posted this card before or not. But I love the bright Crushed Curry background. It's a bit of a wake up on a very dreary Tuesday. They're calling for more snow in the Mid-Atlantic today. 10-20 inches more on top of the 29 we got over the weekend. I'm going to stamp my heart out! So get ready for some monster posts...But first things first: here's today's recipe. Stamps: Think Happy Thoughts

Monday Madness
I say madness because there's lots of snow and cabin fever is close to setting in. However, I still have samples to post! This is an interesting color combination. Apricot Appeal, Sage Shadow and Basic Gray. Add an Embosslit flower and a pearl and you have an equally interesting focal point. Designer paper is Nouveau Chic. I used 2 Sizzlits (Stampin' Up! Little Leaves and Lots of Tags) and the Simple Flower embosslit. Thanks for stopping in.

Snowy Weekend Post
Since we're knee-deep plus in snow, I thought I'd keep posting over the weekend to ease the cabin fever. Wow, a lot of snow has already fallen and it's still going strong. So here are some Spring Colors to ease your day. I used the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Bigz XL die Fancy Favor Box in Celery. I rolled it with the Very Vintage wheel (also in celery). The flowers are from the Vintage Vogue stamp set. The window is made by punching a Wide Oval and then using one of the Lots of Tags Sizzlits as a frame. The perforated oval in the center cuts out with a craft knife or a really fine tipped pair of snips. Enjoy your weekend. By the way, this is what our deck looked like at 7 this morning...Still snowing...Here's the recipe for the box:
Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel
Ink: Certainly Celery, Lavender Lace, Pretty In Pink
Paper: Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White

Birthday Monday
Happy February! It's a new month, so it's a Birthday Card day. Today would have been my Grandfather's 112th Birthday, so I have birthdays on my mind. The layout for this card came from Paper Crafts magazine. There was a cute card with an Ice Cream Cone on it, so I used the same layout with a cupcake, instead. Colors are the In-Colors for this year and the Designer Paper is Razzleberry Lemonade.
