They grow up too fast...

This is going to be my only post this week. My daughter and I are off to the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Manchester, NH for our annual "girls weekend" with my wonderful sisters-in-law. (Can't wait, ladies!) It's a great time plus we get to scrapbook, take classes and eat free ice cream. Oh, and shop for cool stuff to play with. Bonus for me, I get to see what some of the other Paper Crafting companies are up to. I'll post some of the things we do next week.

This year, my son will finish Middle School and move on to High School. I decided to scrapbook his school pictures this year to keep myself remembering all of him. This is the page for his 4-year-old preschool class pictures. I used the Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin' kit. One of the things I really like about this kit is all the cool journalling blocks it has in the die-cuts pages. All in different shapes, too. Plus it has the cute Frog and Turtle. Colors are Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss and Pumpkin Pie. I added the Brilliant Blue letter "A" from the retired Letterpress Alphabet, because the photos I'm using have a lot of that blue in them. It seemed to tie things together better. Cupcake Box

Every so often, I get so excited over a project that I have to post twice in one day. Today, is one of those days. Introducing: The cupcake Box! I was so tickled that this turned out. After finishing the 12x12 spread using the Best Ever Simply Scrappin' kit, I realized I had a TON of stuff left over from the kit. If you've never purchased one, I highly recommend taking a second look at them. There are so many goodies to play with. Anyhow, I've been seeing a number of cute boxes lately, and decided not to be left out. Plus, we're on a cupcake kick anyway, right? If you want the pattern for the box send me an e-mail. Cupcake Challenge

Here's the first 12x12 spread using the Best Ever Simply Scrappin' Kit from Stampin' Up! My daughter is a Food Network fan. Two years ago she had a Food Network birthday party complete with an Iron Chef competition and The Cupcake Challenge. I haven't put all the pictures in yet, but you'll get the layout idea. The cupcake on the left is made from the self-adhesive die cuts that come with the kit.

The cupcake on the right is made with the SU Big Bold Cupcake (same as Friday's post) but matching the colors to the Simply Scrappin' kit. Stamps at the bottom are from Party Hearty.

Happy National Scrapbooking Month!

Yes, I know it's a card, not a scrapbook page! However, it's sort of a preview. Next week I plan to feature some Scrapbooking and project ideas from the Best Ever Simply Scrappin' Kit from Stampin' Up! It' features cupcakes! During the April anniversary contest, my friend Cindy W. suggested cards with different folds. Here's a pop-out card featuring the cute Big Bold Cupcake Sizzlit Dies from SU. I had so much fun playing with this at Stamp With Me day yesterday. The pattern for the card is available for the asking. I only used 2 pieces of the actual card design. I couldn't get the extra pop-up to work, so I just used the pop. I've included 2 pictures of the outside and one of the inside. (Plus the recipe.)
