River Rock and Purely Pomegranate

Two more colors that, sadly, will be leaving us. I saw this sample on the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website. They post samples that demonstrators send in (Thanks for the inspiration Michelle H.) I loved the color scheme on this one, but as usual, I needed a Thank You so I change the sentiment. I also used a white card base rather than all Pomegranate, because I prefer writing on neutral card stock. This is the last post for another break. We're off to Oregon for a bit of R&R. I hope to have new goodies to post when I get back. Cheers.

Wasabi and Guava

I love the In Color idea that Stampin' Up! uses each year to keep their color palette fresh. However, it can be really hard to say "goodbye" to some really great colors at the end of the year (which comes August 10 this year.) This card features 2 of those colors that I'm really going to miss, Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava. Yes, it's another Thank You card, but it could easily be used for any of a number of other occasions. I got the layout idea for this card from a swap I received at convention last year. Many thanks to Sharon P. from Kaiser, MO for the inspiration. Her version used Artichoke and Rose tones and had some ribbon attached to the matted flower. We're doing my card tomorrow at Stamping Day if you can join me. Raindrops and Roses

It's a rainy morning for us. First one in a long time. Here are some Roses to go along with it. Wild Roses, to be exact. They're retiring this set, so I have to use it. I love this color combination: Apricot and Cameo Coral. My friend Sheri first showed it to me (thanks, Sheri!) It's really stunning in person. The greens are Certainly Celery and Garden Green. This was another sample from my "Thank You" card marathon last week. Hope it brightens your day.

Another Thank You

I've been on a "Thank You" card kick for this past week. I made a bunch for a special commission. You'll see the samples until all my new goodies arrive next week sometime. This one is basically the card from the Simply Sent card kit "Simple Delights." I added the sentiment from Short and Sweet. The colors are the "In Colors" which also will be going into retirement soon. I have to admit that River Rock has grown on me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Back in Action

Back to blogging. At least for a few days. Kids were in camp this week, so Mom had time to stamp. Here's a pretty Thank You card made with the soon-to-retire hostess set "Infinite Goodness" and the brand new "Fresh Cuts" set. I like the script on the sentiment. It's a good size, too. The layout is copied from a Simply Sent card kit from awhile ago. I still had the paper, but not the original stamp set. The Olives/Plums (not in my botanical knowledge to tell the difference here) are stamped in Staz On on watercolor paper. I then used my markers (Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke, in case you're wondering) to color the dark spaces on the image and drew the color to the white areas with my Aqua Painter. Watercoloring is not a technique I'm too comfortable with, but I'm pretty satisfied with this result. The paper makes a big difference. I'll have a few more posts next week. Hope your summer is going well.
