Owls, Owls, and More Owls!

I'm really enjoying my Owl Punch.  It takes a bit of practice, but once you've done a few, it's a fun addition to a card.  This first one uses Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive.  I ran the tree through my Big Shot with the Basket Weave Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The leaves are from the Birds and Blooms Embosslit set and.  Just a fun thank you for a Friday.

Vintage Vogue Takes

My Sassy 6 ladies always challenge my thinking.  Thanks, gals!  Last week we gathered with the Vintage Vogue set and various papers/colors and accessories and produced some cards from sketches.  I love doing this because it's a lot of fun to see what people come up with.  This was one of mine.  I stamped a half sheet of Whisper White paper with the flowers and leaves and then cut it down to make two cards.  This one is my own layout, the second is from the sketch/sample we used.  Enjoy them!
Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Short and Sweet, Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel
Ink : Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Old Olive
Paper: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Stampin' Up! Sizzlits Dies Birds and Blooms, Big Shot,Modern Label Punch, Satin Ribbon in Old Olive, Clear Rhinestone Brads, dimensionals

This is the one I copied from our sample layout.  I used softer flowers and less ribbon (I actually used up a roll!  Woohoo!)  Color scheme is the same.  The bling is the same.  The accessories are slightly different.

More Circles to Enjoy

Here's Circle Circus round two.  The second of these isn't photographing as well as I'd like.  The camera doesn't pick up on the vibrant celery-black combination.  If I solve the problem, I'll update it later today.  Meantime, enjoy what the winter blast has produced.

Card one, my personal favorite of the Circle Circus quartet, is simple black and white.  The flower stamp is embossed in white on the black paper (twice) and in black on the white paper (once).  The sentiment (from the Happy Moments sale-a-bration set, again) is also embossed in white.  Circle punches add some dimension.

Stamps: Circle Circus, Happy Moments (Sale-a-bration)
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black
Accessories: White and Black Embossing powder, 1-3/4 inch, 1-1/4 inch, and 1-inch circle punches, heat tool, White Organza Ribbon, dimensionals

This is the one I'm having photo issues with.  The color scheme is again Celery and Black.  Both of these cards were inspired by pillows again.  The first by one I own, the second by one in Coastal Living, again.  I'll keep trying to get a decent photo of this one because the colors are kind of cool together.  Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Circle Circus, Short and Sweet
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Basic Black, Certainly Celery
Accessoreis: Stampin' Up! Embosslit Beautiful Wings, Big Shot Machine, 1-3/4 inch circle punch, Modern Label punch, Vintage Brads, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon in Certainly Celery, dimensionals

Chocolate and Vanilla

This card was another one inspired by a jacket someone was wearing. The jacket itself was a chocolate linen-natural fiber one with caramel and vanilla embroidery. I opted for Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla for a color scheme to try to imitate the look of the jacket. The textured Chocolate Chip Card Stock with the embossed Vanilla image took on a fabric-like look. I hope it comes through in the photo. Enjoy!

More Valentines

Here are 2 more Valentines. Sorry it took a couple of days. I had some trouble with my digital photo card reader on my desk top. I think I've figured out what's up, so I'll try to get a couple more ides tomorrow and catch up. This first one uses the Polka dot Punches set that is available during Sale-a-bration. It has 4 stamps that fit perfectly inside Stampin' Up! punches. Very cute. The second card uses Stampin' Up!'s Top Note Sizzix Bigz Die as a background for the heart. It also uses the stamp set A Happy Heart. Hope you'll find some ideas here.

More Holiday fun

Here's another fun holiday card. This one uses the new Big Felt Flurries from the Mini catalog. I also used the Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon. I like the way that ribbon looks on a card. It's also fairly easy to tie, something that constantly challenges me. I think this color combination is an interesting one, too. The white ink on kraft card stock worked better than I had hoped. Happy Monday.

Stamps: Snow Burst, Short and Sweet
Ink: Whisper White Craft Ink, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red
Paper: Kraft Card Stock, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Big Felt Flurries, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Small and Large Oval punches, Curly Label Punch

Very Vera

This "Thank You" card was inspired by a Vera Bradley "Java Blue" invitation I received recently. I'm making a bunch of these as a gift. I loved the color combination and believe it or not, I had a paisley stamp that almost matched. I also used my Nestabilities scalloped oval die for the Chocolate Chip piece. Everything else is from Stampin' Up! The corners are just Signo White Gel Pen dots because I didn't have any white brads. Enjoy.

Stamps: Paisley background, Short and Sweet
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Taken With Teal
Paper: Soft Sky (retired), Whisper White, Taken With Teal, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Ticket Corner punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Small and Large oval punches, Nestabilities oval die, dimensionals

River Rock and Purely Pomegranate

Two more colors that, sadly, will be leaving us. I saw this sample on the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website. They post samples that demonstrators send in (Thanks for the inspiration Michelle H.) I loved the color scheme on this one, but as usual, I needed a Thank You so I change the sentiment. I also used a white card base rather than all Pomegranate, because I prefer writing on neutral card stock. This is the last post for another break. We're off to Oregon for a bit of R&R. I hope to have new goodies to post when I get back. Cheers.

Stamps: Embrace Life, Short and Sweet
Ink: River Rock, Basic Brown, Purely Pomegranate
Paper: Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate, River Rock, Chocolate Chip\

Another Thank You

I've been on a "Thank You" card kick for this past week. I made a bunch for a special commission. You'll see the samples until all my new goodies arrive next week sometime. This one is basically the card from the Simply Sent card kit "Simple Delights." I added the sentiment from Short and Sweet. The colors are the "In Colors" which also will be going into retirement soon. I have to admit that River Rock has grown on me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Stamps: Simple Delights, Short and Sweet
