Birthday Redux For Tuesday

Recognize this card?  It's similar to one I posted in July, but with a different color scheme and sentiment.  (Be sure to go back and look!)  This time I used the Designer Series Paper Woodland Walk.  I love those Garden Green and Very Vanilla bubbles on one of the patterns.  Nothing super fancy here, just Punches and the Stampin' Up! Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Elegant Lines.  Enjoy your Tuesday.

Christmas Card Number 2: The Bundle Works!

I made the second of my auction Christmas Cards using products from the Vintage Christmas Card Bundle and the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I was amazed at how this card came together quickly using the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper to get the color palette.  I stamped the poinsettia in Jet Black Staz-On ink on Cherry Cobbler paper and on Always Artichoke.  Cut the entire image out from the Artichoke one and just the flowers from the Cherry one.  Then I used some bleach to bleach out the centers of the flowers (yes, bleach!). After it sets I'll go over it with a More Mustard Marker to add some deeper gold.  Background is the Stampin' Up! Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Petals-a-plenty.  Some pearls add a hint of bling on the corner.

A Wedding and a Golden Anniversary

Here are two takes on the same style, but for two different occasions.  My neighbor's daughter got married this past weekend with lovely colors of Red and White.  Here's the card I made for the happy couple.  Immediately after the wedding, I was lucky enough to attend the surprise 50th Wedding Anniversary party of some dear family friends.  It was wonderful.  So here, also is the card I made for their Golden Anniversary celebration.  Enjoy.

More Vintage Wallpaper

The photo is a bit off-center, but I think you can get a good idea.  This is another card using the Vintage Wallpaper die.  I really like the look on Navy.  Very elegant.  I'm really enjoying the folder.  Sassy ladies, we'll be using it next week, for sure.  The circle stamp is from the new set Artistic Etchings.  It's one of the more vintage-type stamp sets that are popular right now.  The pearls here are the old ones from the Pretties Kit.  I'm still waiting for the self-stick ones.  They should get here today.  My UPS guy is the best.  The color combination is the new Cherry Cobbler (a nice rich red) and Night of Navy (an old classic).  Thanks for checking in today.

Happy July

I know, July's almost over. Where has the summer gone. However, now that the new catalog is out and I've had ample time to play, I have more samples to post. This card uses three of the In Colors for '09, my personal favorite new background stamp, and this year's Ronald McDonald House stamp set ($2.00 from the purchase price goes to Ronald McDonald House) The Medallion stamp is stamped twice with full Ink (on the edges) and once stamped-off (in the center) on the Rich Razzleberry paper. The card base is Vanilla paper, it's hard to see from the photo. I hope you're enjoying the summer weather and are finding time to relax and create.

Mother's Day in Teal

Taken with Teal is a color that I love, but I forget to use. It's the darkest color on this card, and I really love the combination with the Turquoise and the Apricot. I used my SU Color Coach to guide my color choice this time. I also used the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and it's matching Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die folder from Sizzix. The card could easily be changed to fit any occasion. Enjoy your mid-week.

Chocolate and Vanilla

This card was another one inspired by a jacket someone was wearing. The jacket itself was a chocolate linen-natural fiber one with caramel and vanilla embroidery. I opted for Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla for a color scheme to try to imitate the look of the jacket. The textured Chocolate Chip Card Stock with the embossed Vanilla image took on a fabric-like look. I hope it comes through in the photo. Enjoy!

Tangerine Happy

I don't know why, but this Tangerine color is everywhere! I saw this set of dishes on the Crate & Barrel Outlet on-line and had to recreate the tangerine silhouette on white (of course, I'm not done with just this one...) I used the Leafy Branch Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background. It's actually reversed so it sinks into the card stock rather than in relief. The ribbon is the new striped grosgrain in Tangerine Tango. Have a lovely weekend.

More Spooky Cards

As promised, here's a card using the Spider Web Cuttlebug folder. The stamped spider is from the old SU set Web Wishes. I can't seem to part with it. The sentiment(s) (there's another on the inside) are the ones from the current set Haunting Halloween. This time, I ran the folder through the Cuttlebug and tapped the white ink on the embossed image. Enjoy your Monday.

Spooky House

Thanks to my friend Cindy W. for finding the Cuttlebug haunted house Embossing Folder. I promised her I'd post what I do with it. Here's card number 1. I inked the Cuttlebug folder (on the side that says "Cuttlebug" with Whisper White craft ink. I then ran it through the machine as normal using Basic Black Cardstock cut to 5-1/4 X 4 inches. The moon is punched with SU's 1-inch circle using Summer Sun CS. (For me it's a perfect full moon color when paired with black or eggplant.) The bats are stamped from the new Halloween Frights set and cut out. The orange is the Tangerine Tango (the new In-Color orange). What a fun folder. I think it will make a great element for a scrapbook page, too...keep watching this space! The spider-web folder is next.
