Birthday Card for a Friday

Here is a birthday using the In Colors from the 2010-2012 set.  I really love these colors and will be using them a lot as we come to the end of this catalog year.  Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz have become a staple in my color rotation so I don't know what I'm going to do when they leave my professional palette!  I'll have to stock up for personal use down the road, I suppose.  In any case, here's that wonderful Bird in the heart from the Take it To Heart stamp set.  I also used the Happy Birthday from the Sale-a-bration set (free!) Two Days In A Row!

I must be on a roll... Here's another Sale-a-bration card.  This time it's a Valentine using the Sprinkled Expressions stamp set.  I got it for FREE with a $50 purchase.  Actually, as a demonstrator, I got to pre-order this one early so I've had a chance to work with the set.  It's fun.  I have to admit I was a bit hesitant at first, but I'm convinced now.  It was a good choice.  Here I paired the hearts with lots of pink.  My daughter wouldn't care for it, but I think it works here.  Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose are layered.  I also used that lovely White Organza ribbon which adds a touch of smooth elegance to any project.  The tiny punched heart is actually from the Owl Builder Punch.  Thanks for visiting,

Sale-a-bration Is Here!

Snow Post Number 4

I think this is the final one for today.  Back to kid-wrangling, dinner prep and taxi-cab driving.  But it was a fun day.  All the samples posted this week will be available next Thursday to stamp.   This particular card I went to the Color Coach for inspiration.  Wanted to use something I hadn't used in a while, so I hit on River Rock.  It's a neutral with a hint of green (at least in the dye-lot I have) and it goes very well with the Not Quite Navy and Rose Red.  My flower need some leaves, so the best green turned out to be Always Artichoke.  Once a gain, it's pretty minimal in stamping and technique, but sometimes that is all you need.   Hope you've enjoyed the "Cyber Stamp with Me Day."  Have a great weekend.

Punch Bunch again.  This time it's a single circle stamp the fits the 1 inch and 1/2 inch circle punches to make the center of the flower.  Embossed background is a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Elegant Bouquet.  Fun Flower Bigz L Die for the paper flowers.  Add some vanilla satin ribbon and there you are.

The Owls Have It!

They're cute, aren't they?  They're also saying Happy Anniversary to my parents who are celebrating 48 years together today.  So, naturally, I had to post an anniversary card.  This pair of owls are also featured in yet another Sale-a-bration Stamp Set!  It's called Punch Bunch.  Each of the stamps in this cute set lines up with a punch.  Very convenient.  Makes for quick and easy card making.  Have a good day.

Time to Sale-a-Brate

Yes, it's that time of year again.  Sale-a-bration is Stampin' Up!'s big sale time of the year.  For details see my Stampin' Up! website at http://mypaperworld.stampinup.net This also means fun new stamps and goodies to play with. Dream Garden Lanterns

It's an Asian-themed day.  I was playing with the Dream Garden stamp set.  The lanterns are made using the Designer Label punch, the 1.25 inch circle punch and the 1 inch punch.  The handles on the top of the lantern are made from the Scallop Trim Corner punch (just the corner loop).

Polka Dots, Baby!

 

I seem to be using a lot of Polka Dots, these days.  But this one is a really quick baby card.  I took the layout from one of the sketches in the current issue of Paper Crafts Magazine.  I used simpler color scheme, though.  This could be changed up in blue for a boy, as well.  Change the letter to a "T" and make it a "thank you" card, too.  In fact, I just might do that for tomorrow.  Smile!

Asian Artistry

This was my "Set of the Day" yesterday.  It's a Stampin' Up! Level II hostess set.  It was also a day for re-discovering techniques that I don't remember to use very often.  The first card is a basic one with markers.  Hope you enjoy them and enjoy your weekend.

The bird card uses the Scallop Trim Border punch (another Sale-a-Bration item) and Perfect Plum designer paper.  The card base is Pale Plum, a color I forget about sometimes.  It makes a great background.  Just light enough.  Background is tone-on-tone using the bamboo-like stamp from Embrace Life.

This is the second card I made.  This one uses bleach on the Garden Green card stock with Cameo Coral Marker over top.  The actual bleaching left a really nice pink-tone (probably from the paper's dye-lot) so all I had to add was a bit of darker color for shading.  The flower itself is embossed in black first to make the bleaching a bit easier.

Last card uses another technique I had forgotten:  I used the crimper, but put the paper partially through and only ran it a couple of turns.  This gave a nice vertical line on the card without using ribbon.  Something different.  Again, the Scallop Trim Border for an interesting edge.

Die Cut Day Project

Die Cut Day is tomorrow.  This is the featured project.  It's a cute little Milk Carton Valentine Treat.  I decked it out with Designer Paper (around the middle, this view is hard to see) and then added lots of hearts and a tag.  It uses Stampin' Up!'s new Sizzix Bigz L Milk Carton Die from the current Occasions Mini Catalog.  The stamps are from the I (heart) Hearts set and from the Vintage Labels Sale-a-bration set.

More Butterflies.

This is an Easel card. I found the pattern for it on splitcoaststampers.com. It's a neat idea because the card stands up when you open it up. This is the outside cover. The size is a regular medium card size when finished (4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches) I used the new single butterfly stamp from the Occasions Mini Catalog and the Well Scripted stamp set. Here is a picture of the inside of the card when it stands up, as well. The Scallop Trim Border Punch is the one that's available during Sale-a-bration! A very good deal.
